VERSION 4.6 RELEASED!

We are proud to announce the release this month of Version 4.6 of Welford Chart Notes - 32-Bit and SQL Version. There are so many new features, we can't even fit them all into this newsletter! Some of the new features in version 4.6 include:

· Appointment One Provider Button: quickly shift the Appointment Scheduler to view the appointments of a single provider.

· Cross-Reactive Allergy Warnings: automatic warnings if the patient is allergic to a drug that cross-reacts with another drug (e.g. penicillins and cephalosporins, celecoxib and sulfa). Each user can set the minimum severity threshold of warnings to see, and you can look up the cross-reacting allergies for any medication.

· Flowsheets: create your own tables containing live patient data for tracking things like warfarin dosing, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, or anything you want to track. Each flowsheet can show drug doses, test results, advice to the patient, and a record of who notified the patient of the results. Flowsheets can be sent to users' In-Boxes for review and comment.

· In-Box Collapse Lab Results: you can choose to see just one line per day per patient in the In-Box saying "Lab results available" instead of seeing each result on a separate line.

· In-Box Vital Signs Option: checking this causes vital signs to be displayed in the In-Box.

· Lab Book Importer Erase After Importing Option: checking this causes the imported file to automatically be erased when the Lab Book Importer finishes importing. This is useful if you have another program that is continuously sending you lab results.

· Lab Book Print by Categories: if you organize your Lab Book by Categories, then when you print the Lab Book, it is organized in the same Categories.

· Lot Number Searcher: locates all patients who have received a particular lot number of a vaccine, sending them reminder letters or postcards if the lot is recalled.

· Messages Send to Group of Users: you can send a message to a specific set of users, and decide whether you want each user to sign off on it, or allow any one of the users to sign off on it on behalf of the entire group. (For example, you might send a message to all of your nurses, with the intent that any one of them call up the patient with some information, and once that is done, the Message disappears from all of the nurses' Messages list, not just the one who handled it, so the others don't waste time handling it again).

· Order Writer Auto-Open Window Opens Back Option: control how many weeks back the Writer Order Auto-Open window displays.

· Order Sets Ordered By: specify who actually orders each test inside an Order Set.

· Parser Quick Summary Clear: erases all of the items in the Parser Quick Summary (instead of leaving them there unchecked).

· Parsing with Contractions: when you enter a Contraction in the Writer, the Meaning of the Contraction is parsed as you type (if you have the Parser set to On). Previously, it was only parsed when you stored the note.

· Prescription Writer Ohio and New Jersey Prescriptions: the Prescription Writer has been modified to handle special requirements in Ohio and New Jersey.

· Prescription Writer Print 4 to a Page: the Prescription Writer can now print 4 prescriptions on a single 8 x 11" piece of paper.

· Print Setting Group Import: you can import one Print Setting Group's settings into another Print Setting Group.

· Provisional Notes Options: you have additional control over the behavior of Provisional Notes.

· Recall Edit Name Button: use this to open the Name Editor while editing Recalls.

· User Undelete: recover a user who was inadvertently deleted.

· Vital Signs Form Number Pad: use this to enter numbers into the Vital Signs form; this is particularly handy if you are using a slate or touch pad and don't want to press keys.

· Writer Auto-Open Ask Each Time Options: controls whether the Writer shows you alerts as it opens and requires you to respond to them, or simply opens without interruption, allowing you to read the alerts in their respective windows.

· Writer Auto-Open Orders Show Future Option: check this to have the Writer Auto-Open Orders window show Orders that are scheduled to take place in the future.
