VERSION 4.7 RELEASED!

We are proud to announce the release this month of Version 4.7 of Welford Chart Notes - 32-Bit and SQL Version. Some of the new features in version 4.7 include:

· @ReferralsTodayAddressPhone: gives the name, address, and phone number of the consultants to whom you have referred the patient today, to include in Visit Summary Templates.

· @Template: is replaced inside the Advanced Writer with the Template you name. This is quicker than using <Alt-T>emplate\Import and then picking the name of the Template, especially if you create a Contraction to stand for the @Template<Template Name>.

· Appointment Comments: record a general comment for a day in the Appointment Scheduler, such as a reminder to keep the day light for a special occasion.

· Diagnosis Renal Failure Option: automatically add a diagnosis of renal failure to the Diagnosis Editor and Past History Expander and see relevant Drug-Disease Alerts whenever an abnormal serum creatinine or creatinine clearance is recorded in the Lab Book.

· Document Manager Confirm Change in Folder Option: confirm that you intend to change the Document Manager's Folder before it is actually changed. This prevents you from changing it accidentally.

· Document Manager Jump: move to other program functions from the Document Manager.

· Formulary Preferred Drugs: you can specify one drug in a class as being Preferred, instead of specifying the drugs that are not preferred, speeding data entry.

· Image Categories: specify user-defined categories for each image, such as "discharge summary" and "consultant's letter" so you can quickly find Images of a particular kind.

· Image Search Print: print Images from the Search window. This is handy if you need to print all of a patient's images over a range of time.

· Image Search Sort Column: sort the Images in a Search by any of the columns in the grid.

· In-Box All Users Use Network Index Option: specify that all users are to use the Network Index. This makes sure that users can Send, Note, and Comment on In-Box Items.

· In-Box Automatically Refresh Option: control whether the In-Box automatically refreshes itself.

· In-Box Comments in Other Program Functions: see In-Box Comments in the other program functions where they are attached (like the Visiter).

· Lab Book Importer and Orders Provider in File: the Lab Book Importer and Orders files now contain a record indicating the patient's provider(s). This lets you import lab results and send them to the In-Boxes of those providers.

· Messages Move: reassign a Message to a different patient if the patient had been assigned in error.

· Messages Confirm Noted Option: confirm that you want a Message to be Noted.

· Parse Inactive Diagnoses: the Parser recognizes diagnoses that are described as inactive or resolved.

· Program Log Modified Notes: modified notes from the Writer are stored in the Detailed Program Log.

· Program Log Records Login Failed: failed attempts to log into the program are captured in the Program Log, making it easier to detect hacking attempts.

· Provisional Notes Refresh: force the Provisional Notes screen to refresh its display. This is useful if more than one user is editing the Provisional Notes simultaneously, and you want to only edit notes that have not been edited by another user.

· Referral Tracking: keep track of when patients are to see consultants and whether you have received verification that the consultation took place, so patients don't fall through the cracks. You can also track whether you have written letters back to physicians who have referred patients to you.

· Spelling Checker Ring Spelling Bell Option: optionally turn off the Spelling Checker bell (if you don't like hearing it).

· Visiter Viewer Goto Image Search and Image Utility: you can jump to Image\Search and the Image Utility from the Visiter\Viewer.

· Window Locking Global Option: you can arrange to have all of the main windows of the program locked in position once you set them the way you like them. This helps you avoid moving them inadvertently by a stray mouse click.

· Writer Images Auto-Open Window: see recently stored images in an auto-open window (e.g. letters from consultants, hospital documents, etc.) so you can quickly review any new information from these documents.

· Writer Referral Auto-Open Window: see all or pending referrals for the patient in an auto-open window. This lets you see if patients failed to follow through on recommended referrals.

· Writer Timer Auto-Open Window: see the elapsed time of the visit in a small window. This lets you keep track of the time you are spending with the patient.
