VERSION 4.5 RELEASED!

We are proud to announce the release this month of Version 4.5 of Welford Chart Notes - 32-Bit and SQL Version. There are so many new features, we can't even fit them all into this newsletter! Some of the new features in version 4.5 include:

· @ActiveDatebook: reports the patient's active Datebook Reminders up through today.

· @Rules: replaced with the patient's currently triggered Rule Reminders.

· Appointment Scheduler Color Coded Procedure Types: user-defined colors for each type of procedure in the Appointment Scheduler .

· Batch Importer accepts wildcard characters: the File Name can be a mask with * and ? characters to import multiple files at once.

· Diagnosis Add Update Past History Expander: when you add a new diagnosis, you can choose to have it automatically added to the patient's Past History Expander.

· Document Manager and Image Utility Support Multi-Page TIFF Files: the Document Manager and the Image Utility both support displaying multi-page TIFF files.

· Document Manager Link Documents: you can link multiple pages of a document together in the Document Manager.

· HIPAA Log Print: prints the contents of the HIPAA Log on the printer.

· In-Box Hide Patient Name Option: hides the patient name while viewing the In-Box.

· In-Box Show Numeric Lab Book Results Option: shows results of numeric Lab Book tests in the In-Box, not just the test names.

· Lab Book Categories: organize your display of Lab Book results by user-definable categories.

· Lab Book Contract\Expand Panels: show or hide individual components of multi-component panel tests (such as chemscreen, CBC).

· Lab Book Importer Automatic Mode: imports Lab results automatically in the background without the user having to manually accept them.

· Lab Book Ranges: specify normal ranges for each lab test, which are automatically filled in and which cause the Abnormal field to be filled in based on the result.

· Medication Instruction Abbreviation Replacer: replaces JCAHO forbidden abbreviations with their correct meanings, and fixes instructions with improper decimal formats (such as ".3" or "3.0").

· Name Editor Ditto Button: copies demographic information from one patient to another (e.g. in the same family, residing at the same place).

· Order Sets: create your own named groups of tests to order, making order entry much quicker and easier.

· Orders Add Diagnosis: assign a diagnosis to each Order so that the test is properly reimbursed.

· Orders Turnaround Time: assign an expected turnaround time for a test so that if the result fails to come within the expected time, the Order is flagged.

· Prescription Log asks to Update Medication Editor: if Prescription Log instruction differs from Medication Editor, you are asked to update the Medication Editor accordingly.

· Print Setting Editor Skip Extra Option: skips extra space when printing on lined paper in which the lines are not evenly spaced.

· Provisional Notes Status: lets you assign a user-defined status to each Provisional Note and then filter your In-Box and Provisional Notes log to show only Provisional Notes of a particular Status.

· Referral Provider Ditto Button: copy demographic information from one referral provider to another (e.g. if they practice at the same facility).

· Rule Reminder Exception Reasons: record reasons why each patient is an Exception to a Rule Reminder.

· Template Copy: copy shared Templates to your personal list of Templates.

· Template Images: embed Images inside your Templates.

· Template Sharing: control which other users can use and edit your Templates.

· Template Transfer Import to Multiple Users: import Templates to multiple users at once.

· Visiter Sort by Actual Date: show Visiter visits and messages in date of visit rather than date recorded order.

· Writer Provider: assign a Provider to each visit, and filter your In-Box to only show Provisional Notes belonging to particular Providers.

This version also has more help videos, Tutorials, and over 1500 pages of on-screen help on over 1250 topics with over 6000 indexed terms and over 9000 hypertext links.

JANUARY QUARTERLY UPDATE RELEASED

This month we are releasing the January, 2004 Quarterly update. The update includes new medications, diagnostic terms, drug interactions, drug dosing information, spelling words, drug-disease Alerts, Web Links, algorithms, medication test reminders, and dozens of new patient education brochures. This update has over 6000 drug interactions with over 2200 references, nearly 11,000 Alerts, over 9700 Web Links, and over 1250 Brochures, including new or revised Brochures on alfuzosin, atazanavir, dutasteride, memantine, palonosetron, tadalafil, Alzheimer's disease, gout, hyperlipidemia, impotence, osteoporosis, prolactinoma, psoriasis, pulmonary hypertension, schizophrenia, and Wilson's disease.
