VERSION 3.9 AND SQL VERSION RELEASED!
We are proud to announce the release
this month of the new version 3.9 of Welford Chart Notes for Windows
32-Bit. It is completely compatible with previous versions of Welford Chart Notes
for Windows 32-Bit. We are also pleased to announce the all new Welford
Chart Notes for Windows - SQL Version, which runs on Microsoft SQL Server.
Version 3.9 has the following new
features:
· @AllMedication and @LastMedication @functions: @AllMedication
gives every dosage and its date for a particular drug; @LastMedication gives the most
recent dosage and date for a drug .
· @AllPhysicals and @LastPhysical @functions: @AllPhysicals
gives the dates of all of the physicals the patient has had; @LastPhysical gives the date
of the most recent physical.
· @Functions + to Include Heading: Following an @function with
a + symbol includes the heading of the @function followed by a colon followed by the value
of the @function.
· Appointment Report Print Letters and Postcards: prints
letters or postcards to patients with upcoming or missed appointments.
· Batch Importer Stored in Attache: notes imported by the Batch
Importer are stored in the Attache.
· Contractions Expand Embedded @functions, Expanders, and
Wordlists: if a Contraction contains within it an @function or Expander, they are
replaced with their full meaning when the Contraction is used. If the Contraction contains
a Wordlist, the Wordlist is activated when the Contraction is used.
· Herb Alerts and Drug Interactions: herb-disease alerts have
been added to the database of Alerts. Herb-drug interactions have been added to the
database of Interactions.
· Image Utility Effects and Zoom to Width of Window Buttons:
the Effects button lets you adjust image properties such as brightness, contrast, and hue
and lets you apply special effects to the image such as blurring, fading, and whirlpool.
The Zoom to Width of Window button zooms the image to fit the width of the Image Utility
window.
· Lab Book Comments: let you store comments about each test
result in the Lab Book.
· Lab Book Graph Standard View and Shrink Button: you can
resize the Lab Book Graph window. The Standard View shows height and weight graphs for
children in standard formats showing ages 0 to 3 or 3 to 18 (depending upon the child's
age) on one screen.
· Lab Book Last Result: the most recent previous result of a
test for a patient is automatically displayed.
· Messages Open Back Option: you can adjust how many days
backward the Message Editor looks backward for messages when you open it.
· Messages Parse Option: the Parser interprets each
patient-related message as it is stored.
· New York City Immunization Report: automatically creates
reports for the New York City Department of Health about immunizations given to children
age 0 to 8.
· Orders Print Button: prints the current Order as a
prescription.
· Parse Prescription: Prescription Log and Authorize Buttons:
when asked if you want to print a Prescription, you can jump to the Prescription Log to
view it before deciding. You can also press Authorize to store the Prescription in
the Prescription as Authorized without printing it.
· Prescription Log Jump to Medication Editor: you can
jump to the Medication Editor from the Prescription Log.
· Provider License Number: you can store license numbers for
providers.
· Rule Reminder Lab, Medication, and Order Buttons: when
reviewing a triggered Rule Reminder, you can jump to the patient's Lab Book, Medication
Editor, and Orders.
· Templates for User-Defined Document Types: lets you restrict
Templates to your user-defined document types.
· Template Wordlists Back Button: lets you back up to a
previous Template Wordlist when using nested Template Wordlists.
· Template Wordlists Paragraph Button: shows you the paragraph
surrounding the current Wordlist.
· Visit Info Shows ICD Codes: the Visiter\View\Info window
shows the ICD codes for the visit.
· Vocabulary Editor Review User-Defined Vocabulary: lets you
see all of your user-defined Vocabulary terms.
· Writer Parse Block: parses just the highlighted block of text
in the Advanced Writer.
Version 3.9 has many other new features and
enhancements. See the updated User's Manual for further details.
JANUARY QUARTERLY UPDATE RELEASED
Along with version 3.9, we are also
releasing the January, 2001 Quarterly update. The update includes new medications,
diagnostic terms, drug interactions, drug dosing information, spelling words, drug-disease
Alerts, Web Links, and dozens of new patient education brochures. This update has nearly
4800 drug interactions with over 1500 references, over 10,100 Alerts, nearly 9500 Web
Links, and over 1000 Brochures, including new or revised Brochures on argatroban,
exemestane, gemtuzumab, linezolid, pemirolast, rivastigmine, tinzaparin, unoprostone,
verteporfin, Buerger's disease, chronic prostatitis, eosinophilic fasciitis, myocarditis,
and many others.

The January, 2001 Quarterly Update
and version 3.9 are being sent this month to all users who have purchased the
Comprehensive Support Package. If you have not purchased this package, or if your support
